How To Feel Good Inside Out

Feeling good entails happiness, joy, peace, and love, which is want we spend our lives trying to find or attain. In the pursuit of happiness, there is a misguided perception that feeling good stems from outward things such as money, sex, career, looks, popularity, and relationships. In reality, outward things that make a person feel good stems from the events that are happening, which causes temporary happiness; in the absence of the events happening, happiness is gone. In order to feel good one must grasp the concept that feeling good is a state of mind.

Feeling good is a sensation that has lead to many dead ends and wrong turns in many of lives as a result of seeking temporary happiness. Because we are our biggest critics, there are things we may not like about ourselves that someone else wish they had. Many people spend their lives wishing to become someone else rather than discovering who they really are. Not knowing self or who you really are causes a person to miss out on the good feelings of gratitude, self love, and love for others. A positive state of mind is crucial in feeling good about self, and helps in the understanding that we are more than the eyes can see.

Discovering the part of you that is more than the eyes can see requires tapping into the mind or monitoring thoughts. This takes discipline because there is the tendency to try to escape the negative realities of life. The fact is we are not perfect, we are all a work in progress; in turn, it is important to face both the good and bad images of self, and to fully except self despite existing faults. It is also important to work on changing the bad or self defeating thoughts that robs a person of feeling good.

The goal is to guard your state of mind, not letting external situations and circumstances dictated how good you feel. Life may not always go as plan, so there will always be the unexpected that appears to spin our lives out of control. But with a solid positive state of mind a person can feel good despite life obstacles. Seeking happiness inwardly is rewarding and long lasting, after all, every thought and feeling we have stems from the mind.
